Effingham County entered their tilt with Glynn Academy on Friday with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. They skirted past the Terrors 45-42. The Rebels pushed the score to 45-20 by the end of the third, a deficit the Terrors cut but never quite recovered from.

Effingham County's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tucker Perkins, who threw for 127 yards and a pair of touchdowns on perfect 6-for-6 passing, and also rushed for 37 yards. Those 37 rushing yards gave Perkins a new career-high. Jmere Doe-Davis was another key rusher, rushing for 92 yards.

Effingham County's record now sits at 7-2. As for Glynn Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Effingham County will head out to take on Statesboro at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Rebels' defense better be ready for this one: the Blue Devils have averaged an impressive 28.8 points per game this season. As for Glynn Academy, they will venture away from home to face off against Greenbrier at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Terrors will be up against the Wolfpack's rather soft defense (which has allowed 34.22 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
