Basketball Game Preview: Berry Cardinals vs. Myers Park Mustangs

Berry hasn't had much luck against Myers Park recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Berry Cardinals will host the Myers Park Mustangs at 7:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Berry took a loss when they played away from home last Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They took down Ballantyne Ridge 55-36. That 19 point margin sets a new team best for the Cardinals this season.

Meanwhile, Myers Park had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 24.7 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They had just enough and edged the Trojans out 68-65.

Myers Park pushed their record up to 12-10 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.3 points over those games. As for Berry, their win bumped their record up to 8-14.

Berry was dealt a bruising 71-42 defeat at the hands of Myers Park when the teams last played back in January. That match was all but decided by halftime, at which point Berry was down 41-17.
