Baseball Recap: Independence Has No Trouble Against Lincoln

Independence came out on top against Lincoln on Saturday thanks in part to the team's impressive 12-run seventh inning. The Mustangs put the hurt on the Lynx with a sharp 17-6 win. The Mustangs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by six runs or more this season.

Independence now has a winning record of 10-9. As for Lincoln, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-14 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Independence will venture away from home to take on West Delaware at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Hawks have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 6.63 runs per game on average), something the Mustangs will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Lincoln, they will challenge Sioux City East at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
