Sam Houston is 7-2 against Lafayette since October of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Broncos will welcome the Lions at 7:00 p.m. Sam Houston will be strutting in after a win while Lafayette will be coming in after a defeat.

Sam Houston took a loss when they played away from home last Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. Everything went their way against Sulphur as they made off with a 34-14 victory. The win continues a trend for the Broncos in their matchups with the Golden Tors: they've now won four in a row.

E.J. Hanney continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 159 yards and two TDs while picking up 7.2 yards per carry, and also picking up 33 receiving yards. Michael Calloura also helped out with an impressive 85 receiving yards.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Sam Houston was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 236 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 158 rushing yards in 11 consecutive matchups dating back to last season.

Meanwhile, Lafayette lost 45-24 to Southside on Thursday. The Lions haven't had much luck with the Sharks recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Having lost for the first time this season, Lafayette fell to 3-1. As for Sam Houston, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.

Sam Houston beat Lafayette 41-34 in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. Will the Broncos repeat their success, or do the Lions have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
