Basketball Recap: NCSSM: Durham Unicorns vs. Voyager Academy Vikings
NCSSM: Durham had won four straight on the road, but on Tuesday they bumped up to 6-0 to make it five. They snuck past the Voyager Academy Vikings with an 83-77 victory. The win almost wasn't to be: the Unicorns were down 57-41 in the third quarter.

Alex Caza had another great game (as he tends to do), dropping a double-double with 27 points and 14 rebounds. He has also also been stellar as far as shooting accuracy is concerned: he's posted one of at least 50% every time he's hit the court this season. Another player making a difference was Nikhil Nanduri, who posted 11 points and seven steals.
NCSSM: Durham was working as a unit and finished the game with 20 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
As for Voyager Academy, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3. Those defeats can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.8 points over those games.
Several Vikings players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Deon Bullock, who dropped a double-double with 19 points and ten boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Darin Jones, who shot 41% from the field to rack up 19 points in addition to six assists and three steals.
NCSSM: Durham wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 70-56 victory against Roxboro Community on the 20th. As for Voyager Academy, they have also already played their next contest, a 68-30 loss against Southern School of Energy and Sustainability on the 20th.
