Baseball Game Preview: Willows Honkers vs. Pierce Bears

For the second straight game, Willows will face off against Pierce. The Honkers will be playing at home against the Bears at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.

Having struggled with five defeats in a row, Willows turned things around against Pierce on Tuesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Bears a 12-0 shutout.

Charles Squier was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over five innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs.

In other batting news, Kellan Ramsey was incredible, going 2-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March of 2024. Clint Girard was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and two RBI.

Willows always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .588. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Pierce is on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-14. As for Willows, they picked up their first road victory, bumping their record up to 3-14.
