Softball Recap: St. Johns Snaps Six-Game Streak of Wins at Home

St. Johns fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Morenci on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 9-7. The Redskins were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Wildcats earlier this season, when they won 9-6.

Abby Wagoner was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

St. Johns' defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 19-7. As for Morenci, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 17-11.

St. Johns does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Morenci, they will face off against Heritage Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Wildcats' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Heroes have averaged an impressive 12 runs per game this season.
