Leadership Academy is 1-7 against Walkertown since March of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Falcons will take on the Wolfpack at 6:00 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
While Leadership Academy's win against Bishop McGuinness wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Falcons skirted past the Villains 8-6. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Falcons.

Clay Smith was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. He has become a key player for Leadership Academy: the team is 4-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 5-6 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Hank Gaston, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and one run.
Leadership Academy hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in six consecutive matches.
Walkertown never got on the board in their matchup on Thursday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Greater Vision Academy on Tuesday. They blew past the Lions 14-2. The Wolfpack might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 13 contests by seven runs or more this season.
David Olmedo was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was even better at the plate, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with five stolen bases and three runs. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Cam Smith, who went 1-for-2 with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Caden Joyce was another key player, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs and one double.
Leadership Academy's record is now 9-7. As for Walkertown, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 16-6.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Leadership Academy has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.8 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Walkertown struggles in that department as they've been averaging 5 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Leadership Academy skirted past Walkertown 4-3 in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Falcons since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
