Basketball Game Preview: Augusta Prep Day Cavaliers vs. Westminster Christian Academy Lions

Augusta Prep Day is 0-4 against Westminster Christian Academy since January of 2023 but things could change on Friday. Having just played yesterday, the Augusta Prep Day Cavaliers will get right back to it and host the Westminster Christian Academy Lions at 5:30 p.m.

Augusta Prep Day is headed into Friday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Thursday. They had to suffer through a 51-14 loss at the hands of Westminster Schools of Augusta. While losing is never fun, the Cavaliers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 504th, while the Wildcats are ranked 124th).

Westminster Christian Academy got their first taste of in-conference action this week and they started things off strong. They took their matchup on Tuesday with ease, bagging a 45-14 win over Monsignor Donovan Catholic. The game marked the Lions' most dominant victory of the season so far.

Augusta Prep Day's defeat dropped their record down to 1-14. As for Westminster Christian Academy, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-3.

Augusta Prep Day came up short against Westminster Christian Academy in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, falling 44-39. Can Augusta Prep Day avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
