Softball Game Preview: Hubbard Greyhounds vs. Phillips Wildcats

Hubbard hasn't had much luck against Phillips recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Greyhounds will take on the Wildcats at 11:00 a.m. Phillips took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Hubbard, who comes in off a win.

Five must be Hubbard's lucky number: they beat Hyde Park with that score not once but twice last Tuesday. The Greyhounds beat the Thunderbirds by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 5-2. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Greyhounds.

Meanwhile, after a string of five wins, Phillips' good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They lost 16-6 to Cristo Rey Jesuit.

Hubbard now has a winning record of 6-5-1. As for Phillips, their loss dropped their record down to 14-6.

Hubbard suffered a grim 13-2 defeat to Phillips in their previous meeting on May 1st. Can the Greyhounds avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
