Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Gracie Adams and Lauren Tedrick Lead Lincoln to Victory

There's no place like home for Lincoln, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. They had just enough and edged out the Taylorville Tornadoes 2-1 on Thursday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

If you add up the scores from across all three sets (68-66) Lincoln actually scored fewer points, but in the end it didn't matter. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 16-25, 25-20.

Lincoln was led to victory by Lauren Tedrick and Gracie Adams. Tedrick had seven digs and one block, while Adams had seven digs and two aces. Those seven digs gave Adams a new career-high.

Several Tornadoes players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Robyn Ward, who had ten kills, four digs, three aces, and two blocks. Ward is crushing it when it comes to kills: she's had at least five every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryan Prince, who had 15 assists and seven digs.

Lincoln has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-10 record this season. As for Taylorville, their loss ended a four-match streak of away wins and brought them to 16-3.

Lincoln has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 victory against Decatur Eisenhower on the 2nd. As for Taylorville, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 2-0 win against Champaign Central on the 26th.
