Basketball Recap: Mundy's Mill's Victory on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Mundy's Mill had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 20 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They secured a 62-57 W over the Northside Patriots. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Tigers also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2016.

Mundy's Mill's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Christopher Johnson, who went 7 for 13 on his way to 22 points and seven rebounds. With that strong performance, Johnson is now averaging an impressive 15.1 points per game. Michael Gray was another key player, going 6 of 9 on his way to 14 points and four steals.

Mundy's Mill's win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 10-5. As for Northside, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-7.

Mundy's Mill will face off against Griffin at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Northside, they will head out to take on Central at 7:30 p.m. on January 10th.
