Basketball Recap: Cedar Ridge Takes a Loss

Cedar Ridge was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They came up short against the Western Alamance Warriors, falling 59-39. The defeat was just more heartbreak for the Fighting Red Wolves, who fell 37-34 when the teams last met back in December of 2023.

Despite the loss, Cedar Ridge saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Jordan Jacobson posted 19 points. That was a full 48.7% of Cedar Ridge's points, marking the fifth time in a row he's scored more than a third of the team's points. Jack Kelsey was another key player, putting up two points and six blocks.

Cedar Ridge's defeat dropped their record down to 5-11. As for Western Alamance, their win bumped their record up to 7-5.

Cedar Ridge didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 68-67 loss against Williams on the 17th. As for Western Alamance, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 74-53 defeat against Person on the 17th.
