Soccer Game Preview: Newman vs. Fontainebleau

The Newman Greenies and the Fontainebleau Bulldogs will compete for holiday cheer at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Newman will be coming into the contest with an undefeated record on the line.

Newman's tournament run continued when they took on North Vermilion on Saturday. Newman came out on top against North Vermilion by a score of 3-1. Given the Greenies' advantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana soccer rankings (they are ranked fourth, while the Patriots are ranked 46th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Fontainebleau had just enough and edged Live Oak out 2-1 on Saturday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bulldogs.

Newman pushed their record up to 11-0 with the win, which was their tenth straight at home. As for Fontainebleau, their victory bumped their record up to 7-4-3.

Everything went Newman's way against Fontainebleau when the teams last played back in December of 2016, as Newman made off with an 8-0 win. Will Newman repeat their success, or does Fontainebleau have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
