Baseball Game Preview: West Central Valley Wildcats vs. Nodaway Valley Wolverines

West Central Valley and Nodaway Valley are an even 4-4 against one another since June of 2016, but likely not for long. The Wildcats will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against the Wolverines at 5:00 p.m. West Central Valley will be strutting in after a win while Nodaway Valley will be coming in after a defeat.

West Central Valley not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since May 29, 2024 (when they won 15-2). Everything went their way against Madrid as they made off with a 9-1 victory.

Meanwhile, Nodaway Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 13-2 to Mount Ayr.

West Central Valley pushed their record up to 4-7-2 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.3 runs over those games. As for Nodaway Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-9.

West Central Valley took their win against Nodaway Valley when the teams last played back in June of 2023 by a conclusive 12-4 score. Will the Wildcats repeat their success, or do the Wolverines have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
