Basketball Recap: Belleview Rattlers vs. Weeki Wachee Hornets

Belleview was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They took a blow against the Weeki Wachee Hornets, falling 86-53. The Rattlers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Hornets earlier this season, when they won 53-36.

Weeki Wachee found their leader in sophomore Jayden Parent, who went 9 for 13 on his way to 23 points in addition to eight steals and seven assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Parent has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Logan White, who went 8 for 14 on his way to 22 points and five rebounds.

Belleview's defeat dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Weeki Wachee, their victory ended a nine-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-14.

Belleview won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Citrus at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. That contest will pit two of the most dominant forwards against one another: Ashton Jenkins and Al Johnson. As for Weeki Wachee, they will challenge Crystal River at 8:00 p.m. on Friday.
