Football Recap: Burlingame Comes Up Short at Home Against Half Moon Bay

Burlingame unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They fell just short of the Half Moon Bay Cougars by a score of 35-32 on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Panthers have suffered since August 30, 2024.

Several Panthers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Nick Armstrong, who rushed for 79 yards and one touchdown on only eight carries, and also threw for 146 yards and one TD. Hayden Haba was another key rusher, rushing for 60 yards and a pair of scores.

Looking ahead, Burlingame will challenge Palo Alto at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Half Moon Bay, they will square off against Pacheco at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
