The South Vermillion Wildcats will challenge the Parke Heritage Wolves at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. South Vermillion is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9 runs per game this season.
Parke Heritage will be up against a hot South Vermillion squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. Everything went the Wildcats' way against Cloverdale on Monday as they made off with a 16-5 victory. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won four matchups by nine runs or more so far this season.
Parker Weir was incredible, going 3-for-5 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Dakota Spivey, who went 3-for-4 with three runs and three RBI.
South Vermillion always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .526. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cloverdale only posted an OBP of .346.
West Vigo hit Parke Heritage with a five-run third inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Wolves came up short against the Vikings, falling 8-1. The Wolves haven't had much luck with the Vikings recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.
Parke Heritage saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was BT Luce, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
Parke Heritage's defeat dropped their record down to 8-6. As for South Vermillion, their win bumped their record up to 8-5.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. South Vermillion has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 8.9 hits per game. However, it's not like Parke Heritage struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 5.1 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
