Basketball Recap: Hayden Comes Up Short

On Monday, the Hayden Tigers took a blow against the Crested Butte Titans, falling 67-26. The Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Crested Butte had a senior duo take command as Adin Kurak went 9-for-19 en route to 25 points along with seven assists and six boards and Eli Hulm went 8-for-15 on his way to 22 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which Kurak has scored at least a third of Crested Butte's points. Tyus Fischer was another key player, putting up four points and four steals.

Hayden's loss dropped their record down to 3-15. As for Crested Butte, they now have a winning record of 9-8.

Looking ahead, Hayden will welcome Caprock Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hayden is facing Caprock Academy at the right time seeing as Caprock Academy is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Crested Butte, they have already played their next game, a 64-58 defeat against Lake County on the 18th.
