Basketball Recap: Walkertown Drops Season-High Score on North Forsyth

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Walkertown). They breezed by the North Forsyth Vikings to the tune of 90-48 on Wednesday. With the Wolfpack ahead 53-31 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.

Walkertown was led to victory by Kenan Grady and Ricco Daniels. Grady went 7 for 10 on his way to 21 points and six rebounds, while Daniels posted 12 points in addition to eight assists and four steals. The dominant performance gave Grady a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Camereon Cartlidge, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten boards.

They weren't the only one working in the assists department: Walkertown was working as a unit and finished the game with 23 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

North Forsyth lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Kerry Smith, who went 8 of 20 on his way to 20 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Shallah Boxley, who had five points and seven boards.

Walkertown's win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 5-7. As for North Forsyth, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-7.

Walkertown won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against McMichael at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Walkertown is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 59.1 points per game this season. As for North Forsyth, they will challenge West Stokes at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
