Softball Recap: Mogollon Comes Up Short

Mogollon was the 21-2 winner over Superior when they last played one another back in March of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Mustangs came up short against the Panthers on Friday, falling 11-4. The Mustangs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Ava Plantholt and Rigley Klien did some serious damage despite the final result: Plantholt went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI, while Klien went a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple and one RBI. Haidyn Franco was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Mogollon's defeat dropped their record down to 7-11. As for Superior, the victory (which was their 11th in a row) raised their record to 16-6.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Panthers beat Mogollon by a score of 11-4 later that day.
