Newton lost to Lenape Valley back in September of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Friday. The Braves walked away with a 17-7 victory over the Patriots. Given the Braves' advantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey football rankings (they are ranked 108th, while the Patriots are ranked 223rd) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Newton has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 7 points this season. As for Lenape Valley, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Looking ahead, Newton will take on Sparta at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Lenape Valley, they will face off against Mountain Lakes at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
