Softball Recap: Make It Five in a Row for Kelliher/Northome

Kelliher/Northome put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They put the hurt on the Bagley Flyers with a sharp 14-5 victory. This was payback for the Mustangs, who suffered a 19-9 loss the last time these two teams met.

Kate Thayer was incredible, firing off two home runs, six RBI, and three runs while going 3-for-5. Those home runs marked the first that she has launched this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kylee Binkley, who went 4-for-5 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Kelliher/Northome kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 12 hits in three consecutive games.

Kelliher/Northome's win was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-0. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for Bagley, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-5.

Coming up, Kelliher/Northome will be playing in front of their home fans against Littlefork-Big Falls at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Bagley, they will head out to take on Lake Park-Audubon at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
