Softball Game Preview: Fairport Red Raiders vs. Greece Storm Titans

The Fairport Red Raiders will challenge the Greece Storm Titans at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Greece Storm took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Fairport, who comes in off a win.

While Fairport's win against Brighton wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Red Raiders narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Bruins 8-6. The win was some much needed relief for the Red Raiders as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

The team relied heavily on Julia Poligone, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one triple and two RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April. Allison Runke was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with three RBI and one triple.

Greece Storm kicked off their season on the road two weeks ago and hit a couple of potholes. They fell 4-1 to Rush-Henrietta.

Fairport's victory bumped their record up to 6-7. As for Greece Storm, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.

Fairport took their win against Greece Storm when the teams last played back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 16-2 score. Do the Red Raiders have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Titans turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
