Softball Recap: Corydon Central Takes Down Scottsburg in a Playoff Battle

With a playoff win on the line, Corydon Central rose to the challenge on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Scottsburg Warriors with a sharp 21-2 victory. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won ten matches by seven runs or more so far this season.

Kynlee Mader was a standout: she got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Addison Alford, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Corydon Central always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .806. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Corydon Central's record is now 17-6. As for Scottsburg, they are on a 19-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-17.

Coming up, Corydon Central will challenge Madison at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Panthers are facing the Cubs at the right time seeing as the Cubs are stuck on a five-game losing streak. Scottsburg does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
