The Westwood Baptist Academy Eagles waltzed into their game on Monday with three straight wins but they left with four. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Risco and snuck past 40-37. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Westwood Baptist Academy also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2023.
Westwood Baptist Academy had a senior duo take command as Ben Jones dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds and James Hawley scored 17 points along with six rebounds. That makes it eight consecutive games in which Hawley has scored at least a third of Westwood Baptist Academy's points.
Westwood Baptist Academy's win was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 21-3. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.5 points per game. As for Risco, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 20-4.
