Basketball Recap: Peru Takes a Loss

Peru was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They received a blow as they fell 46-27 to the Guerin Catholic Golden Eagles. The Tigers were not able to make up for their loss to the Golden Eagles from their previous meeting back in December of 2023.

Sydney Azbell was Peru's leading scorer, having posted eight points. Addie Robbins took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with four assists.

It was another big night for Ava Bills, who went 10 of 21 on her way to 22 points along with eight steals and seven boards for Guerin Catholic. The team also got some help courtesy of Annie Murphy, who posted seven points in addition to five assists and four steals.

Peru's record now sits at 3-8. As for Guerin Catholic, the win got them back to even at 5-5.

Peru wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 48-39 victory against Northwestern on the 17th. As for Guerin Catholic, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 50-43 win against New Palestine on the 18th.
