Baseball Recap: Glendora's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

After low-scoring totals in their previous five contests, Glendora brought some dynamite into their most recent contest. They never let the Diamond Bar Brahmas get on the board and left with a 13-0 victory on Tuesday. The win was some much needed relief for the Tartans as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Not much got past Brayden Johnson, who gave up just a hit and racked up 13 Ks to keep Diamond Bar off the board. Johnson also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Glendora is 4-2 when he allows at most three earned runs, but 3-4 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Kai Zeits was a standout: he scored two runs while going 2-for-4. Glendora is undefeated when Zeits posts two or more runs, but 4-6 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Santiago Garza, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.

Zeits wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Glendora kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. Glendora is 3-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

Glendora's victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 7-6. As for Diamond Bar, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-11.

Glendora will have a chance to go back-to-back against Diamond Bar: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.
