Softball Recap: East Catholic's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

East Catholic had lost three games straight , but after bumping their record up to 8-9 on Monday that streak is in the rearview. They never let the East Hartford Hornets get on the board and left with a 2-0 victory. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Eagles have posted since May 10, 2024.

The result came thanks to Amelia Deschaine's shutout, as she gave up just four hits and racked up nine Ks.

As for East Hartford, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-10. The match marked the first time this season in which they were not able to get on the board.

On East Hartford's side, Izzy Brito spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on two hits and racked up six Ks.

Coming up, East Catholic will head out to face off against South Windsor at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bobcats have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13.94 runs per game on average), something the Eagles will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for East Hartford, they will challenge Enfield at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
