Baseball Game Preview: Paxton-Buckley-Loda Panthers vs. Rantoul Eagles

The Paxton-Buckley-Loda Panthers will challenge the Rantoul Eagles at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Paxton-Buckley-Loda is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.8 runs per game this season.

Things were looking good for Paxton-Buckley-Loda after they put the first run on the board on Tuesday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They fell just short of Armstrong by a score of 6-5.

Bryar Cosgrove was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, three RBI, and one run. Tyler Cole was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.

Meanwhile, Rantoul unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Saturday. They took a 7-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of Illinois Valley Central.

Rantoul saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aiden Cheek, who went 1-for-3 with one run.

Rantoul's loss dropped their record down to 10-9. As for Paxton-Buckley-Loda, they dropped their record down to 11-8 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.

Everything went Paxton-Buckley-Loda's way against Rantoul in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as Paxton-Buckley-Loda made off with a 10-0 win. Do the Panthers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Eagles turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
