Basketball Game Preview: Prospect Ridge Academy Miners vs. Denver Christian Thunder

The Prospect Ridge Academy Miners will head out on the road to square off against the Denver Christian Thunder at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Prospect Ridge Academy has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the game with 15 straight defeats, while Denver Christian will come in with 12 straight wins.

Prospect Ridge Academy is headed into the match out to prove that what happened against Jefferson Academy on Thursday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Prospect Ridge Academy took a blow against Jefferson Academy, falling 44-15. While losing is never fun, the Miners can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 278th, while the Jaguars are ranked 107th).

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Denver Christian). They simply couldn't be stopped on Tuesday as they easily beat The Academy 84-14. The Thunder have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 14 contests by 22 points or more this season.

Prospect Ridge Academy better keep an eye on Kamiree Fuller. She was instrumental in Denver Christian's win, dropping a double-double with 32 points and 12 steals. With that strong performance, Fuller is now averaging an impressive 15.4 points per game. Another player making a difference was Natalie Bohannon, who went 7-for-13 en route to 15 points along with five rebounds and three blocks.

Denver Christian was working as a unit and finished the game with 22 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in February of 2024.

Denver Christian pushed their record up to 19-1 with the victory, which was their 18th straight on the road dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.5 points over those games. As for Prospect Ridge Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 3-17.
