Baseball Recap: Cusick Snaps Three-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

Cusick dropped their record down to 5-12-1 on Wednesday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins on the road. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Oroville Hornets. The Panthers were red-hot at the plate heading into the game (they scored no less than ten runs in the three contests prior), but the Hornets' pitchers proved too tough.

As for Oroville, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-2-1. Those five runs were actually the fewest they have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.

For Oroville's part, Tucker Accord made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out ten over seven innings pitched. Accord has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with three stolen bases and one run.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kane Booker, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Another player making a difference was Landon Howe, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
