Baseball Recap: Trinity Christian Comes Up Short

If Trinity Christian was feeling good fresh off their 18-3 takedown of Garrett Memorial Christian last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Trinity Christian Warriors took a 15-10 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Abundant Life Owls on Tuesday. The Warriors have struggled against the Owls recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meetings.

Brody Parks put in work while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up just one earned run but no hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-5.

In other batting news, Spence Sparks made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Tristan Gerrald, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.

Trinity Christian's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 4-3. As for Abundant Life, they pushed their record up to 6-1 with the win, which was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season.

Coincidentally, Trinity Christian and Abundant Life will both be playing Southwest Christian Academy the next time they take the field. Abundant Life will host Southwest Christian Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, while Trinity Christian will host them at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
