            Baseball Recap: Bellport Clippers vs. West Babylon Eagles        
        
		
        
        
            Bellport extended their losing streak  to eight  on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 1-12 in the process. They lost  9-0 to the West Babylon Eagles. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup  6-0  on Monday.
As for West Babylon, the  win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 12-6. Those  victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.3 runs on average over those games.
For West Babylon's part,  not much got past  Anthony Gerbasio, who gave up just  a  hit and racked up seven Ks to keep Bellport off the board. Gerbasio has been consistent: he hasn't  tossed less than five  strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.
 On the hitting side,  the team  relied heavily on  Elijah Outlaw, who  went 2-for-3 with one  home run, two  stolen bases,  and four  RBI. Those  four  RBI gave  him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of  Steve Gervasi, who  went 2-for-4 with four  stolen bases and three  runs.
As of now, neither Bellport nor West Babylon have any future games scheduled.
