Soccer Recap: Clinton Drops Season-High Score on West Brunswick

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Clinton). They skirted past the West Brunswick Trojans 2-1. Even though the Dark Horses got in a bit of trouble with the refs ( Evan Gillespie was handed a red card), the team managed to overcome the adversity.

Jenna Jackson and Larkin Best scored both of Clinton's goals, which were season-firsts for both players.

Clinton's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-5-1. As for West Brunswick, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2-1.

Clinton and West Brunswick could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings. Clinton (ranked 258th) will meet Croatan (ranked 91st) at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Clinton is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak. Similarly, West Brunswick will challenge Laney at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday down 171 places (233 vs. 62).
