Basketball Recap: Clarke County Comes Up Short

Clarke County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 63-57 heartbreaker at the hands of the Page County Panthers. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Panthers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Clarke County's loss dropped their record down to 4-12. As for Page County, they pushed their record up to 11-8 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.

Clarke County won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Rappahannock County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Page County, they also won't have to wait long for more action: they'll take on Central Woodstock at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Central Woodstock will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Page County surely won't give up without a fight.
