Basketball Recap: East Takes a Loss

After flying high against Clay last Tuesday, East came back down to earth. The East Tartans took a 39-35 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Clay Panthers. The Tartans were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Panthers earlier this season, when they won 69-48.

East has also been struggling recently as they've lost 11 of their last 12 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-13 record this season. As for Clay, their win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-7 and their overall record up to 2-17.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. East won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against West Union at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Clay, they are taking a road trip to square off against St. Joseph Central at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
