Softball Recap: Harrisburg Hornets vs. Palestine-Wheatley Patriots

After flying high against Bay last Monday, Harrisburg came back down to earth. The Harrisburg Hornets fell 6-3 to the Palestine-Wheatley Patriots on Thursday. The Hornets were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Patriots apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2019.

Sofie Mooney made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 1-for-2. What's more, she posted two RBI, the most she's had since back in March of 2024.

Harrisburg's loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Harrisburg will venture away from home to face off against Cross County at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Palestine-Wheatley, they are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game this season: they will challenge Bald Knob at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
