Basketball Recap: Kaiden Ward Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Community Christian

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Excel Christian Academy had no problem doing just that on Friday. They walked away with a 63-52 victory over the Community Christian Lions. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Eagles.

Excel Christian Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Kaiden Ward out in front who posted 20 points. Ward has been hot for a while, having posted 20 or more points the last 13 times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Tristen Hoskins, who scored 17 points.

Community Christian lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Levi Samuel, who earned eight points in addition to ten blocks and seven rebounds. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in blocks. Another player making a difference was Levi Hinton, who en route to 20 points and seven boards.

Excel Christian Academy's victory bumped their record up to 15-12. As for Community Christian, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-21.

Excel Christian Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 79-44 win against True North on the 21st. Community Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
