Wayne extended their losing streak to seven on Friday, dropping their season record down to 1-8 in the process. They came up short against the Centerville Elks, falling 16-10. On the bright side, the ten- run performance marked the Warriors' highest-scoring game to date.

As for Centerville, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-10. With that victory, they brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.

For Centerville's part, they let Natalie Carr and Lillie Hopf run wild. Carr went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two doubles, while Hopf went 3-for-5 with one home run, two runs, and two doubles. That's the most hits Hopf has posted since back in April of 2024. Riley Bakan was another key player, going 4-for-5 with four RBI and one double.

Wayne wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, an 11-6 loss against Springfield on the 28th. As for Centerville, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-1 defeat against Greenville on the 26th.
