Baseball Game Preview: Coldwater Cavaliers vs. Eaton Eagles

The Coldwater Cavaliers will venture away from home to take on the Eaton Eagles at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Coldwater's pitching crew has only allowed 3.3 runs per game this season, so Eaton's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Coldwater will head out to face Eaton after giving up their first home loss of the season on Tuesday. The Cavaliers took a 7-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of St. John's.

Meanwhile, Eaton lost 11-1 to Edgewood on Monday.

Eaton saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Chase Overholtz, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run. Overholtz has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last eight times he's played.

Eaton's defeat dropped their record down to 5-15. As for Coldwater, the loss was their first at home, dropping their record down to 18-3.

Coldwater couldn't quite finish off Eaton in their previous meeting back in May of 2021 and fell 4-2. Can the Cavaliers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
