Baseball Recap: Skyview Has No Trouble Against Roosevelt

Skyview had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Roosevelt on Friday. The Storm blew past the Roughriders 10-0. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Storm considering their one-run performance the match before.

Dylan Goetz looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Skyview is 2-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 3-4 otherwise.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Lono Williams, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2. He also put up a double, which was his first of the season. Charlie Steuben was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-2.

Skyview always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .519. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The victory got Skyview back to even at 5-5. As for Roosevelt, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-8.

Skyview and Roosevelt will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Storm will take on rival Union at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Roosevelt is set to square off against their familiar foe Grant at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
