Volleyball Recap: Gunnison Cowboys vs. The Vanguard School Coursers
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Gunnison had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They blew past The Vanguard School Coursers 3-0. The win was familiar territory for the Cowboys who have now won 15 matches in a row.
Gunnison never let The Vanguard School on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-22, 25-19.
Leading Gunnison to victory were Aubriel Loken and Ruthie Lock. Loken had six digs and a block, while Lock had two aces. Loken has been hot recently, having also posted 13 or more assists the last three times she's played.
Gunnison kept the net locked down and finished the game with 11 blocks. That's the most blocks they've posted since back in September.
Gunnison pushed their record up to 23-2 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. As for The Vanguard School, they moved to 17-7 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak.
