Baseball Recap: John Bapst Memorial Starts Season with Win Against Waterville

John Bapst Memorial took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over the Waterville Panthers. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Crusaders also won the last time the pair played back in May of 2024.

John Bapst Memorial let Nate Lewis and Colby Haggerty run wild. Lewis went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI, while Haggerty went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those two hits gave Haggerty a new career-high. Ian Boudreau was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

John Bapst Memorial was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .391. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Waterville only posted a batting average of .222.

Waterville now has a losing record of 1-2.
