Basketball Recap: Carleigh Dotson's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Blanco over Randolph

Blanco was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 12th straight defeat. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 32-26 heartbreaker at the hands of the Randolph Ro-Hawks. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Panthers of the 34-32 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January.

Several Panthers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Carleigh Dotson, who posted four points in addition to nine boards and four steals. Dotson has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaylee Romero, who put up nine points and six rebounds.

Blanco's defeat dropped their record down to 2-18. As for Randolph, their win bumped their record up to 7-9.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Blanco will venture away from home to take on Wimberley at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday. As for Randolph, they are taking a road trip to face off against Long Creek at 11:15 a.m. on Friday.
