The Aragon Dons are taking a road trip to challenge the Mills Vikings at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Aragon is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.6 runs per game this season.
Aragon made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Carlmont, but they still couldn't quite topple them. Aragon blew past Carlmont 14-3 on Thursday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Dons.
Makayla Hafoka looked comfortable as she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Taylor Workman, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Destiny Garcia, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.
Aragon always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .533. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, Mills beat San Mateo 9-6 on Thursday.
Kalia Woo spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned (and one unearned) runs on nine hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Audrey Jang was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three doubles, two RBI, and one run. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in March of 2024. Gina Hillman also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Aragon's record is now 5-6. As for Mills, their record now sits at 6-1-1.
Tuesday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Aragon hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .353. However, it's not like Mills struggles in that department as they've averaged .349. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Aragon beat Mills 6-2 when the teams last played back in May of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Aragon since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
