Baseball Recap: Greenville Yellow Jackets vs. Lowell Red Arrows
Greenville extended their losing streak to four on Monday, dropping their season record down to 17-15 in the process. They lost 7-0 to the Lowell Red Arrows. The Yellow Jackets were not able to make up for their defeat to the Red Arrows from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.
As for Lowell, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-8-1 record this season. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 contests by six runs or more this season.
For Lowell's part, the result came thanks to Ty Wasilenski's shutout, as he gave up just four hits and racked up seven Ks. Wasilenski has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Nathen Raison was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two doubles. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Johnny Pike, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base.
While Greenville had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
