There's no place like home for Mesquite, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. They put the hurt on the Greenway Demons with a sharp 50-27 victory on Friday. The Wildcats' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Parker Kaczmarek was his usual excellent self, rushing for 316 yards and six touchdowns while picking up 12.6 yards per carry. He really tore up the turf during one magnificent 80-yard run.

Mesquite didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Greenway to a completion percentage of just 45.8%. The team can thank Gavin Sledge for the heroic effort on defense: he. Mesquite wasn't nearly as limited: they posted one of 27.3%.

Mesquite's defense didn't let the opposing QB, get away unscathed either: they got into the backfield for five sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Braylon Wall and Ricardo Martinez, who racked up four sacks between them.

Despite the loss, Greenway still got an impressive performance from Corey Guerrero, who rushed for 113 yards and one score while picking up 7.1 yards per carry. Guerrero's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 113 rushing yards.

Mesquite now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Greenway, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-5.

Mesquite wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 39-34 win against Eastmark on the 3rd. As for Greenway, they have also already played their next contest, a 28-21 victory against Tempe on the 3rd.
