Basketball Game Preview: Spring-Ford Rams vs. Constitution Generals

The Spring-Ford Rams will square off against the Constitution Generals at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams are still undefeated (Spring-Ford has five wins , while Constitution has three).

Spring-Ford is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They blew past Norristown, posting a 71-41 victory. The Rams not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since January 9th (when they won 60-29).

Meanwhile, you're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter and that's exactly how it played out for Constitution on Tuesday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that they blew Overbrook out of the water with a 79-45 final score. With the Generals ahead 44-23 at the half, the game was all but over already.

Constitution's win came from a few key players Spring-Ford will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Jacob Mitchell, who dropped a double-double with 13 points and 13 boards. Mitchell is also crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Dahkenah Wilkins, who posted ten points in addition to seven rebounds and five steals.

Constitution smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since the start of last season.

Spring-Ford's win bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Constitution, their victory bumped their record up to 3-0.

Spring-Ford was able to grind out a solid win over Constitution when the teams last played back in December of 2024, winning 46-39. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was the Generals' Alantay Dawson, who shot 50% from the field to rack up 13 points and seven steals. Now that he won't be playing on Saturday, will it be easier for the Rams to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
