Basketball Recap: Middleton Comes Up Short

Middleton was the 88-74 winner over Sun Prairie East when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. Middleton took an 85-79 hit to the loss column at the hands of Sun Prairie East. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Saturday (63), Middleton still had to take the loss.

This is the second loss in a row for Middleton and nudges their season record down to 13-9. That patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.0 points over those games. As for Sun Prairie East, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Middleton will venture away from home to take on Sun Prairie West at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Sun Prairie West's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. As for Sun Prairie East, a feisty cat fight will be fought as the Cardinals take on the Wildcats at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Verona will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Sun Prairie East surely won't give up without a fight.
